We undertake a wide variety of basketball coaching in schools, and most of this is done as part of the School Sports Co-Ordinator coaching in primary schools across Plymouth. Demand for Raiders coaches to visit schools across the two counties is such that this is something that we are looking to develop on a large scale.

We also work in a large number of secondary schools across the city and in Cornwall. In the past we have worked as far afield as Penzance to the West, Taunton in the east, and Barnstaple and Bude in the North.

We receive a lot of requests to visit schools on one off coaching sessions, to work with the school’s basketball teams, or to undertake a programme of 10 weeks of coaching. We are keen to develop this side of the coaching across both Devon and Cornwall.

Our coaches have also undertaken “Teach the Teacher” training events, where a group of P.E. teachers have been brought together to develop their skills in coaching basketball to their pupils at school.

All of our coaches who work in schools are England Basketball Level 2 qualified basketball coaches, and have all also undergone CRB checks.
