Glasgow Rocks continue to shine and especially at Kelvin Hall where they picked up another win to keep themselves in the thick of the BBL Championship title race.
The final margin of seven flattered the visitors whose late flurry of points hid the fact that Rocks dominated for 37 minutes before slacking during the closing stages.
The hosts started brightly led by Mubarak and when he drilled home a triple from an assist by EJ Harrison, the Rocks were 13-5 in front inside the first four minutes. Sterling Davis and his team were taking advantage of some lax perimeter defence and soon opened up a double digit lead at 20-10. Mubarak then finished the opening period with yet another score from outside as Rocks took control at 31-16.
The Raiders improved during the second quarter and held the home team to 11 points in over eight minutes as they worked hard to reduce the deficit to just six points at 42-36 in what was a real team effort.
However, this time a triple by Harrison kept the Raiders at bay and heading to the locker rooms, Rocks were still up by a double figure margin at 50-39.
As in the first half, Raiders again rallied and got to within six points again when Anthony Rowe who was to finish with an impressive 20 points and 10 rebounds claimed an inside score to make it 55-49. Unfortunately for fans of the Raiders it was to be a familiar story as the visitors once again failed to get over the hump.
Rocks stepped it up a notch and tightened up defensively as Raiders managed only four points in the last six minutes of the quarter. Outscored 13-4, they were on the ropes at 68-53 heading into the last ten minutes.
When Rocks then stretched it out to 20 points at 84-64, it looked all over but Raiders took full advantage of the home team taking their foot off the gas to explode with 19 points during the last three minutes to add a note of respectability to the final score.
