Cheshire Jets eased into the BBL Play-offs last four with an 83-70 victory over UCP Marjon Plymouth Raiders.

The win gave Jets a 177-164 aggregate win after the first match had ended 94-94 in Devon on Saturday night. But once Cheshire had taken the lead late in the second quarter the fourth seed gradually grew its advantage to eventually come out fairly comfortable winners.

Quemont Greer led the Jets scoring with 22 points, while Jeremy Bell (19) and Colin O’Reilly (18) both had more than Raiders leading scorer Lehmon Colbert with 14.

Raiders scored the first six points of the match but a 23-6 Jets burst soon saw the visitors behind by 11 at the end of the first quarter (27-16).

Gavin Love’s team wasted no time in getting back on terms. An Anthony Rowe two levelled the score at 30-30 and Anthony Martin gave Plymouth their final lead at 36-37.

However, once O’Reilly had put Cheshire back on top a Stephen Gayle three gave Jets a 41-37 half time lead.

The margin ballooned to 60-46 late in the third quarter as Cheshire began scoring at will. A Bell lay-up gave Jets their largest advantage of the match to end the period 64-48.

Plymouth got to within seven (75-68) on a Colbert three but a 4-0 Jets run ended any hopes of a dramatic comeback for away team.
