Back
There has been some interest in Beasley from other teams, and he was also wanted for a coaching position at University level in the USA, but the draw of returning to the Raiders was just too much to turn down. Head Coach Gary Stronach was clearly delighted to have signed Beasley, one of the team’s co-captains from last year. "I’m delighted that Cats back for his sixth season. He’s been an outstanding player for Raiders over the years, so he was one of my main priorities to re-sign. I'm just looking for continual improvement from him and the team as a whole."
Beasley's statistics from last year clearly underline just
how important he is to the team. DeAntoine was second on the
team in steals (1.74 per game), first for (and sixth in the league)
for assists (4.35 per
Beasley himself was proud to be returning to Raiders for the 07/08 season, and is looking forward to challenging for more honors with the team this year. Beasley is the first player from last year’s team to re-sign for next season, but the club hopes to announce several other signings in the next few weeks. In the next week, the club will also release season ticket information for the 07/08 season and fans are encouraged to get their tickets early.
