Have you always wanted to try out cheerleading? Do you often see High Vision cheerleaders and wish you could be part of the squad? Well for the first time ever Plymouths number one cheerleading squad are offering the opportunity to do just that.

Plymouth Raiders High Vision cheerleaders are running two weeks of cheerleading camps this summer, open to all ages and abilities and held at Plymstock School. These will be the first ever cheerleading camps to take place in Plymouth, and will feature the Raiders’ popular cheerleading squad as coaches.

Girls will be able to attend either one or both weeks of camp and are guaranteed some great fun, an enjoyable way of staying fit, and the chance to practice and learn the routines of the top cheerleading squad. The camps run from 20th to the 24th August and from the 27th to the 31st August. Every person that attends the camp will receive a High Vision camp t-shirt and will have the opportunity to have a photograph taken with the girls.

Kelly Holt, head cheerleader and camp organiser says “the idea of the camp is try and get more people involved in cheerleading, and to give people that have always wanted to have a go the opportunity to do so.  We also wanted to try and actively promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle but show that there are fun ways to get fit and be healthy and cheerleading is one of those ways’.

The camps will provide an insight into what it takes in terms of fitness, dedication and the importance of healthy eating to be a High Vision cheerleader. The squad have become so successful that they were asked to perform at the UK’s basketball showpiece event – the BBL Playoff Finals. Participants will get the opportunity first hand to work out with the squad, learn some of the more well known routines that the girls perform on court at Raiders games and also have the opportunity to work alongside the squad in putting together a new routine to be used in the upcoming season. Members of the High Vision cheerleading squad will be attending the camp both weeks to answer any questions, give an insight into the day in the life of a cheerleader on game day, assist with routines and also generally promote the importance of fitness and exercise.

The camp will run each day from 10am-4pm and a week’s attendance costs just £80. Participants have the choice of attending one or both weeks but early booking is essential, as places are expected to go quickly.
