7’0”
Lithuanian centre Tomas Janusauskas played last
season for the
Guildford Heat in the BBL, giving the Heat some
valuable contributions over
the course of the year.
He
started playing in the BBL for London Capital and
made a huge impact on
the league averaging 18.4 points and 9.8 rebounds
(2nd in the league). He
then went to Guildford last season, where he
averaged 5.3 points and 3.5
rebounds per game off the bench. He was named to the
Eurobasket All
Bosman team in 2010. Against Leicester last
season, he had 14 points and
9 rebounds and followed that with an 11 point, 9
rebound performance against Newcastle.
Raiders
Coach Gavin Love was pleased to have secured
Janusauskas’ signature. “He’s a very unique player
in the BBL. At 7’0” he is very agile and athletic
with a nice shooting touch, and I think he has more
of a potential to be an impact player in the
league.”
Janusauskas himself is looking forward to the
challenge. “Plymouth is great organisation. This is
an exciting and great opportunity for me. I want
this to be a successful season, to have a solid year
and win a trophy with Plymouth.”
