Despite picking up just one win in their last nine games, Flyers Head Coach Andreas Kapoulas says he is happy with his team’s recent performances.
“For us it’s just about consistency. Control what we can control as a team, when we do that it’s very obvious what we can do on the court.”
“Wins will come.”
If those wins are to materialise, Bristol will need Jalan McCloud to expand on his recent run of good form. McCloud has used his explosive speed and deft touch in and around the basket to devastate defences across the BBL this season. Not only has the dynamic point guard been adding to his highlight reel, he has managed to translate performances into tangible results, leading his team in average points, steals and assists
Another player that Raiders will need to be wary of is Texas Tech alumnus Justin Gray. The 6’5 forward averages 13.35 points per game and is equally comfortable shooting from beyond the arc as he is driving at the rim.
Raiders fans will not be surprised to hear that both Donte Nicholas and Rashad Hassan featured in the BBL All Star Five for week 21. Hassan racked up an astounding 63 total points last weekend, increasing his average to 21.94 per game. The 6’8 forward has relished taking on the Flyers defence this season and scored a game-leading 22 points when the teams last met in December.
Not to be outdone, Nicholas was able to complete the first triple-double of the entire season in Plymouth’s victory against the Scorchers. The two time BBL Player of the Month has been the epitome of consistency in 2019 and will be a key component in the Raiders attempts to bring home a W from their coastal adversaries.
