The new owners of Plymouth Raiders – Richard Mollard and Ross Mackenzie – are continuing to rebuild the club with the appointment of Heather Nash as their new General Manager.
Heather has worked for the Raiders for the last two years as Sales Manager where she established many of the wonderful relationships that the club enjoys with local business and partners. Now as General Manager she will lead the administrative side of the club under the direction of Mollard and Mackenzie. Nash’s appointment comes after former CEO Dave Briggs announced last week that he was to step down to pursue a career outside of basketball.
Speaking of the appointment Raiders Director Richard Mollard said: “Having had the opportunity to work closely with Heather for a number of weeks now, we’ve been extremely impressed with her drive, passion for the club and organisational skills. She’s formed some great relationships with our key partners and sponsors, many of whom have spoken very highly of their dealings with her, and this made the decision to promote her to the GM role one of our easiest in recent weeks.
“We’ve been very grateful to all the office team who have worked exceptionally hard in recent weeks, under difficult circumstances at times, and have been instrumental in helping us understand the fundamental day to day running of the club.
“Next week we’re due to move into fantastic new offices at Marjon which will create an even better environment for Heather and the team to lead this club into an exciting future.”
New General Manager of Plymouth Raiders, Heather Nash said: “I’m thoroughly delighted to be taking this step with the club in what already is proving to be incredibly exciting times. I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside fantastic partners and colleagues within the last two years, we are now putting strategic measures in place to ensure that our partnerships and the club go from strength to strength.”
Myles Blake, Plessey Marketing Director and spokesman for the company said, “We are delighted to hear that the key posts at the Raiders are now filled and we are now keenly looking forward to the upcoming season. Whilst sad to see Dave Briggs move on, the appointment of Heather Nash is the natural choice.
“Heather will not only bring stability and experience to the management of the club, but she brings a high level of enthusiasm to everything she does. We at Plessey are all looking forward to working with Heather and the new owners of the team.”
The appointment of Nash follows announcements of Gavin Love as Head Coach and Louis Sayers as the first Player signed for the 2017/18 season. More player announcements will follow in the forthcoming weeks as the new owners and new Head Coach build their dream team for the season ahead.
