Plymouth Raiders will be looking to extend their winning running to four games this weekend, the Greens travel to Worcester Wolves on Friday night, before returning to Pavilions to Sunday afternoon to face Surrey Scorchers.
The Raiders defied the odds last Sunday to pick up points against league leaders Newcastle Eagles, and with two wins in two games, Plymouth will hope they can carry on their good form into December.
Coach Gavin Love reflected on his team’s win last weekend.
“It was a solid performance,” he said.
“Defensively we took on the challenge of guarding the best offensive team in the league – and we did a good job.”
It’s been said on multiple occasions that a play-off berth for Raiders at the end of this season will be a success, Love discussed this fact, as well as how his team have improved on the court.
“If we wish to make the playoffs it’s incredibly important that we keep improving and pick up wins this weekend,” he said.
“We have been playing better team defence recently, as well as rebounding and sharing the ball far better than in previous games.”
New signing Jawad Adekoya made a successful start to his Raiders career on Sunday, scoring 18 points and picking up 5 rebounds, Love has been pleased with Adekoya’s progress so far.
“I think Jawad has settled in very well,” he said.
“His defence was excellent against Newcastle and he did a good job at the offensive end.
“It will take time for him to understand everything we do but he has caught on quickly thus far.”
