celebrating 40 years of Plymouth Raiders

On Saturday 1st June 2024, players past and present united in a charity game to celebrate 40 years of Plymouth Raiders.

 

Arriving in Plymouth from far and wide across the US and Europe including Carlton Aaron, MVP winning star of the BBL Trophy Win in 2007 and flying in from Kansas City, joined former BBL star players Donte Nicholas and Josh Wilcher, who teamed up with Allistair Gall, Mark Leach, Danny James, Roderick Wellington and Jeff Danchie all suiting up to name just a few former players from across the decades in a match up for the ages against the current National League Raiders.

Club legend Gary Stronach led the side in a return to the Raiders sidelines for the first time since 2010.

2017 - 2019 Raiders star Joonas Jarvelainen from Estonia flew in to lead the current NBL 2024 team alongside Tom Woods and Tom Elliott-Smith in a closely fought battle, with the All Stars running out 80/76.

 

Over 800 fans attended the game in an event, Raiders management hope will become a more regular fixture in the future.
