Brandon Boatfield comes full circle

Brandon Boatfield comes full circle by signing for Raiders for the 23-24 NBL season. The 6ft 1in guard started his Raiders journey at our Torpoint sessions in 2016 with Ross Mackenzie and Danny Stevens before transitioning into Raiders Development where he played between the ages of 13-18 whilst also competing in the local P&D league. He now currently studies at Plymouth Marjon University and joins Coach Law’s side as one of the youngest recruits this season.

Head coach Gareth Laws may of only been in pre season training with the young Raider for a couple of weeks but had this to say on his new signing, “Brandon joins Raiders as one of the young guns on the team and in the first couple of weeks of preseason, has shown his willingness to learn and the ability to use his new teachings and continue to play at a high level.”

“He’s shown great confidence against the veteran players on our team and challenges them every possession.”

“He has a great feel for the game and great potential to be an outstanding player for Raiders, I look forward to working with him.”

New recruit Boatfield added “Being part of the Plymouth Raiders team is a surreal feeling, I grew up watching the players which made the team who they are. To now build onto that legacy is an exciting feeling and I am looking forward to it.”

“I’m and active listener and always eager to learn more, I think this allows me to be versatile and adapt to any play style. Anything I am told I try to put into effect immediately”.

“My goals for this season is to prove myself as a young upcoming player in the basketball scene, and to build a great bond with my teammates that will help us reach our goals and hopefully get promoted this season.”
