Former BBL Raider Tom Woods is back in Plymouth and ready to make a big impact during the 23/24 Season.
The 6ft 5in 32 year old Forward grew up playing basketball as part of the Solent programme before high school basketball opportunities presented themselves in America, with subsequent stints in Italy and of course the BBL 13/14 season under Jay Marriott's stewardship.
After a highly dominant year in NBL D3 last season it’s clear to see why Head Coach Gareth Laws wanted him as part of his roster and had this to say about linking up with the forward “Tom Woods joins the Raiders as a seasoned vet having played in the states, Europe and the BBL.”
“He’s a relentless competitor with a high motor, drive and passion for the game with a great skill set to compliment his attitude.”
“He joins us a one of the, if not, the top all round player in D3 last year leading his team in points and rebounds.”
“He comes ready to make an impact and is determined to create a successful environment for the team.”
On his return to Raiders Tom added “I am very much looking forward to being part of the Plymouth Raiders community once again.”
“I hope to bring a commitment to the club, to be a part of the Raiders rebuild and help develop younger players.”
“My goals this season is to help us win as many games as possible and push to get promoted.”
