Another dominant league display from Raiders see’s them pick up their second league win of the season 93 - 52 over Cornwall Titans.
Raiders returned home to The Life Centre on Sunday for their first home league game of the season against Cornwall Titans. Another near capacity crowd packed into the city’s leisure centre to see the Raiders in action with the game not disappointing and staying undefeated in the league.
The team set the tone for the game early on with scoring becoming very free flowing, Raiders were up 24-11 after the first 10 minutes and looked very much in control. Titans turned up the pressure in the second quarter bagging themselves 17 points with an attempt to close the gap but Raiders were not fazed entering the locker room on top, 45-28.
Once the teams returned to the court for the third quarter Raiders picked right back up where they left off, firstly keeping the titans at bay but also scoring a further 29 points to take them to 74-39 with 10 minutes remaining on the clock.
With Raiders in such a dominant position, head coach Gareth Laws used this a valuable opportunity to get his younger recruits uninterrupted time on the court, both Brandon Boatfield and Alfonso Gonzalez De Heredia took the opportunity with both hands. Boatfield sunk multiple 3’s back to back and closed up the game, ultimately finishing 93-52 taking the Raiders two from two in the league.
Another dominant display from Raiders two Tom’s saw Woods leading on all stat lines with 17 points, 16 rebounds and 6 blocks, Elliott-Smith was not too far behind with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Dan Taylor added 15 points and 10 rebounds and after lighting up the end of the game, youngster Brandon Boatfield finished with 15 points and 1 rebound.
